Rob Kohlbacher - Owner
After 30 years of building some of the wildest hot rods in the area, Rob Kohlbacher decided to open his own shop in 2014 and has had a solid backlog of work ever since. He is continuing the tradition that his family has been building for over 70 years in the Ohio area. Immediately after opening it’s doors, the Hot Rod community embraced Rob’s new venture and Kohlbacher’s has become the new standard in performance and custom vehicles throughout the Ohio valley.
A Family Tradition
Rob's grandfather returned from WWII and, like many of the veterans, decided to follow his passion for racing and speed. He spent his life competeing and winning on tracks throughout the region. Rob's father also spent his life building hot rods and transitioned the name from some of the most competitive race cars on the track to some of the wildest machines rolling the streets.
Rob spent his young life right next to his dad and has been fabricating since he was a young child. This skill and attention to detail that only experience can provide is evident in every vehicle the shop builds.
In Rob's Garage
While Kohlbacher’s Kustom Speed and Fabrication works on all American muscle and hot rods, personally Rob has owned a majority of Fords. To say his blood runs “Ford Blue” is an understatement. His current daily driver is a 1995 Ford F150 Lightning. Along with this great truck, Rob also has a 1964 Fairlane (Kohlbacher’s signature car), a 1961 Ford Galaxie wagon and the 1962 Ford Falcon 2 Door Wagon.
